Getting the ‘Hotel Look’ With Blankets
Everyone loves the look of a freshly made ‘hotel style’ bed and it’s easy to do for home. To get the hotel style turn down look you see at hotels - first – you need to layer your bedding in this order:
Flat sheet > Then the blanket > Then the comforter
If your blanket features a decorative hem you might want it to peak out and glamour to the bed. You will want to stagger the bedding so that the flat sheet is the tallest – then the blanket – then the comforter. Hotels actually triple sheet their bedding which means that your body never touches the blanket (First they layer two sets of flat sheets then the blanket then another flat sheet. Then some decorative adjustments are made to two of the sheets which surround the blanket – while the third one prevents you from touching the ‘blanket’ sandwich.).
Easy Care Blanket Washing Tip
Unlike comforters which are often used with a duvet comforter protector – blankets are left exposed on the bed. So take a cue from the ‘hotel turn down’ story above and double sheet your bedding so that you only have to wash the sheets and not the blankets – this will save you time, money and allow your bed to look great all season long.
